中心簡介
前瞻理工科技研究中心前瞻理工科技研究中心的使命在於成為中興大學的學術交流平台，透過整合現有的科技研究和核心設施，結合主題導向的研究團隊，制定策略，協助爭取研究資源和申請計劃，並進一步推動產學合作，國際交流，以創造具有前瞻性、獨特性和競爭性的研發成果。此外，該中心還將與學校各學院合作開設課程和學程，促進基礎科技和新知識課程的推廣。
中興大學開設的課程包括：
1. 跨領域通識和微學分課程：針對所有領域的學生，以提升其科學和技術素養。
2. 任務導向或主題式課程：反映產學聯繫、國際宏觀趨勢，以及教育部和國科會對開設相關課程和學程的需求。
3. 實作課程：利用現有的核心設施，整合規劃實作課程，提升學生的動手能力和實務操作技能。
4. 短期微課程：與長期的學期課程不同，在較短的時間內完成。
5. 暑期學校：在暑假期間提供的教育項目或課程。
6. 國際學程：與學校內各學院和單位合作，開發面向國際學生的學程。
本中心目標是整合校內外的研究資源與人力，專注於跨領域關鍵科技的研究議題，致力成為一流的研究中心。我們追求學術卓越、建置核心實驗室與奈米、量子、半導體檢驗認證平台，研發功能性材料及關鍵科研技術，並積極推展跨領域及產學的教學與合作。進一步結合校內各學院的研發成果與研究專長，聚焦於產業應用與合作鏈結，全面提升中興大學在科技研究上的實力。
Introduction:
i- Center for Advanced Science and Technology (iCAST) was established in 2003 with the aim of advancing world-class research and nurturing future talents in the frontiers of Science and Technology. The center serves as an academic exchange platform, integrating existing technological research and core facilities to foster strategic initiatives, secure research resources, and facilitate collaborative projects. With a focus on pioneering, distinctive, and competitive research outcomes, iCAST plays a vital role in pushing the boundaries of knowledge and innovation. Additionally, the center collaborates closely with various departments across the university to develop and promote courses and programs in foundational science and emerging knowledge areas. Through these collaborative efforts, iCAST aims to drive interdisciplinary research and education, contributing to the advancement of science and technology on both local and global scales.Our Missions:
Integrating Multi-disciplinary Research: Fostering collaboration across various disciplines, with a particular focus on the colleges of Science, Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS), Life-science and Agriculture.
Competing for External Research Funding: Actively seeking external research funding and resources from government entities, industry partners, and international sources to support cutting-edge research initiatives.
Cultivating Talents in Advanced Science and Technology: Nurturing skilled professionals in advanced science and technology through comprehensive undergraduate and graduate programs.
Constructing Infrastructure and Providing Instrument Services: Building essential infrastructure and offering instrumental services to both academic and industrial sectors to facilitate research and development activities.
Promoting Academy-Industry Collaboration and International Academic Partnerships: Actively encouraging collaboration between academia and industry, as well as fostering international partnerships to enhance the scope and impact of academic initiatives.
